Web interactions
Quote a passage or leave a sticky note, right where the discussion starts.
Enable web interactions on an authorized website. Select a passage to quote it in chat or add a sticky note. Both belong to your current squad.
Set up the page
In Settings › Web, enable web interactions and add the websites you want. You can select several and approve their exact site origins in one Chrome request. Then turn on the squad composer's Web interactions button. If it shows Authorize, use that panel to grant the current site access. Both the feature and its page-specific requirements must be satisfied; Security and permissions explains revocation.
Quote to chat
Choose Quote to chat after selecting text. The passage and source enter your draft first. Add your thoughts, then send. Squad members can read the snapshot or return to the original page to locate it.
Select up to 200 Unicode code points of public text. Inputs, textareas, editable areas, selects, invisible content, script/style/template/noscript, canvas/iframe and Palside’s own page layer are excluded. Buttons, form containers and dialogs are not excluded by themselves. Keywords such as “account” or “trade” do not filter content. A draft is not a sent message; review it before sending. See Security and permissions for anchoring data and local text processing.
Leave a note in place
Choosing Add a sticky note submits it directly to your squad, without sending a chat message. It is saved only after confirmation. You can keep just the selected text, or add context and revisit it on the same page.
Added websites and note sources support internationalized domain names. Quote titles, note summaries and favorite titles are shortened by visible characters without splitting combined emoji. Sticky notes follow the full page address. Visiting the same token on another website does not move them there. Turning off web interactions does not delete saved notes.
Notes are encrypted squad content and follow its retention and membership rules. If the source text moves or disappears, the note remains readable in the side panel even when it cannot be highlighted. Removing your added comment does not delete the selected passage; delete the note itself if that is what you intend. A failed or uncertain save needs checking on the original operation; do not assume it was saved or create duplicates.
Other ways to share
Use signals and emotes to draw the attention of squad members on the same page. Use screenshots and annotations for charts and other visual content. A finished screenshot enters your draft before you confirm sending it.
Signals disappear 5 seconds after sending and do not enter chat history. Canvas elements cannot send or receive signals. Use annotated screenshots to discuss charts.
Capture only what you want to send
On an eligible web page, use the screenshot shortcut (Alt+Shift+S, or ⌥⇧S on macOS) or first click the Chrome toolbar icon to grant current-tab access. A side-panel click or ordinary website permission alone does not grant screenshot access. If the shortcut is unassigned, change it in Chrome's extension shortcut settings.
A new selection must be at least 8 pixels wide and tall. Capture ends after 2 idle minutes; each action renews that timer, up to 10 minutes total. Text annotations allow 500 visible characters and pen strokes 10000 points in total. Exported images have a longest edge of 1600 pixels. Select the visible area, crop or annotate, and mosaic sensitive details before finishing. Only the final flattened image enters the draft; sending does not attach the original screenshot, edit layers, cropped-out area or page URL. A simple outline box is not redaction. Cancelling leaves the chat draft unchanged. Browser/background restarts do not restore unfinished image edits.
Access and sharing are separate
Manage website access in personal settings. Share viewing and web interactions have separate controls; granting website access does not automatically start sharing.
